Loading...The ESK Primary and Elementary teams both competed in the 2015 Tennessee Scholastic Regional Chess Tournament last Saturday at the L & N Stem Academy in Knoxville.
The Elementary Team (grades 4-6), composed of Jose Vowell, Phil Spates, Austin Rhea, Tono Vowell, and Eliot Jolley, won the Elementary School Division, winning each of their four matches.
The Primary Team (grades K-3), composed of Jack Quigley, Anthony Schmitt, Tristan Turner, Grayson Parker, Charles Cowart, and Max Mealor, placed third in the Primary Division.
The Elementary B Team, composed of Eliot Jolley, Tono Vowell, J. P. Quigley, and Avery Jolley, won the B Team division.
Both the Elementary and Primary School teams qualified for the State Finals to be held in Cookeville on March 28.
