Historic St. Thomas’ Episcopal Church in Elizabethton is opening its doors wide celebrating its 75th “Diamond Jubilee” Anniversary kicking-off year-long Celebrations on Sunday, January 22 at 11 a.m. People from near and far will gather to celebrate in the beautiful old landmark Church (1861) in Elizabethton’s Old Town, “Two rivers running through it, great mountains surrounding and the sunshine of God’s Love blessing All,” as described by the pastor, Reverend Timothy Holder, in his blessing.
St. Thomas welcomes a growing number of families and individuals from “all over Elizabethton, Carter County and beyond, children and young people, seekers and believers, the downtrodden and needy, new and old - in two languages - all the People of God,” according to Father Holder returned to his tenth generation home of Carter County to serve at St. Thomas. “God’s Love don’t stop,” he preaches.
“75th Anniversary events are planned all 2017 here at St. Thomas so come see us,” invites Ms. White, “and celebrate with us at this beautiful old House of Worship praising the Good News of our Lord Jesus Christ.” St. Thomas celebrates Sundays with Anointing and Holy Communion at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday Noonday Prayers, and Thursday “Mediodia” - Noonday Prayers in Spanish.
